Congratulations to me!

I think most of you have heard the good news about a Chinese student here in our ministry who accepted Christ on Thursday. It has been an incredible time for us and our students. Being in Western Europe, we don't get to see that happen a lot. Our students were so amazed and shocked! We are really praying for her now that she will become a multiplying disciple of Christ and not just a believer in Christ.

I gave a talk a couple weeks ago about being transformed into the image of Christ and how God doesn't just want warm bodies in heaven, He wants transformed lives. I had a student translate the talk for me, since that would require less time in preparation and make me less nervous up there. Well the student translated it to say that God doesn't just want vegetables in heaven, He wants transformed lives. I really liked that translation, because when you think of a vegetable you think of something that is limp, weak and doesn't really do anything. I mean God wants people to be saved, yes! But He wants people to then enter into His Kingdom work in some capacity and allow them to really change their lives. I think of John Newton, the author of Amazing Grace and how even after he accepted Christ, he was still the captain of a slave ship. Just because we accept Christ, doesn't mean that all the wrongs in our lives will be righted and that our lives will automatically shifted around. Don't get me wrong accepting Christ, radically does change your life, but we aren't just done after that. We need to continue to walk with Him daily and allow Him to then change things in our lives daily.

So that is our prayer for our new sister in Christ and all the students we work with here. Can you join us in praying for that?
