Tram riding

I think I have blogged before about the tram, but riding public transportation always provides interesting stories. This one is kind of interesting, kind of sad. So yesterday we were on the tram headed to the grocery store. All of a sudden, it slams to a stop. Then it creeps forward, the doors open and people get on. This woman and her daughter of about 4 years old get on. Then the conductor comes storming back and starts yelling at the woman. Apparently she walked in front of the tram. He tells her "that if she does that again she will be dead." He goes on to say "that someone died last year and someone just died last week, you will be next if you do that again." He seemed really shook up so it must have been a close call. Then the woman sitting across from Keith and I starts yelling at the conductor saying that she wasn't that close. Then a guy a few feet behind us starts yelling at that woman that "the tram is not a car it cannot just stop, the tram is not a car." Everyone around us is yelling, sometimes looking at us trying to get into the mix. I was not about the argue in French, though Keith kept telling me in English "he is right the tram is not a car, she will get killed if she does that again, I agree with the conductor." Ahhh...this is when I wish we had a car!
