So I have recently started reading Billy Graham's autobiography "Just as I am." I don't know about you, but I love learning about Christan lives that have gone before us. I love hearing about those lives straight from the person and reading about them as well. So often I think, 'God what are you doing with my life, does it have any order to it? or is it just one turn after another?' It is always so encouraging to me to read about other's lives and see how God worked in them. All the twists and turns that God takes us through really do have some sort of purpose. It has been incredibly refreshing to see the struggles Billy Graham had in figuring out what to do with his life. Certiantily, if God had told him when he was younger what he was to do, he might have been too afraid to do it. And this is Billy Graham we are talking about, we hail him as one of the greatest Christians of our time period.
As we start processing through what to do next year it is easy for me to feel like my life is just a sersis of twists and turns with now real purpose to it. I want the purpose of my life to glorify Christ and acknowledge Him as supreme in all that I do. I do acknowledge that I fail daily in that, but I often wonder what God is using in all these twists and turns to make that purpose come true. It will be wonderful, (I hope), to look back on my life at the end and see how God ordained everything and how it all fit together in a wonderful masterpiece only by His hand. Until then I guess I just need to trust Him with my future and know that nothing in the lives of His children in is vain.
