We're here!

Hello Everyone,
Sorry it has taken so long to write. We have obviously been busy settling back into our place. It has been so much easier this year. What a blessing to come back and already have a bed and internet. We have purchased some new items to make our apartment feel more homey like a TV and curtains.
Also it was so great to have friends here waiting for us! It can take a long time for the French to warm up to you, so it has been great having people here who want to hang out with us! I felt so loved when there were about 5 students waiting for us to get into Nantes. I have defintly learned a lot from the French about what biblical friendship looks like. One of my best French friends told me how one thing she doesn't like about Americans is how competitive they can be. I think our competitive nature can work against us in friendships. We are always comparing each other and trying to be better than someone else. That doesn't really enable us to be happy for others when something happens. I also love how they view time (well sometimes, not when I'm waiting for someone) but when a need comes up and they will drop everything to help you or just spend a day with you.
Well those are just some things that I realize are biblical in their culture. We talked at our culture training on how to take things from different cultures that are biblical to make ourselves a more biblical person. I think my American view of time and things to do can defintely make me an unbiblical person. I'm working on it though...

Some pictures from our in country briefing in Rennes

At dinner with our lovely trainers the Kellums, who have lived in France 15 years now. Congrats!

Don't you just love French food. And it does taste as good as it looks!

No Jon that was a main dish. It's called a galette, a buckwheat thin pancake thing filled will all sorts of different goodies. That one even came with ginger ice cream to put on top. La vie en France!
