Spain Mid-year

There is our team on the beach is Spain.

Spain was an incredible time. We were gathered there with over 100 other missionaries from all over Western Europe and...other places. It was such a time of encouragement and community. They flew in a worship band from the states and had a couple really great speakers. I don't think I realized how much my soul really did miss singing praise songs in my native language and hearing talks in English (that weren't online). Also I hadn't been around that many Christians since I left the states, it was so nice to be in a large Christians community, even if it was for just a week.
I also appreciated how they gave us extended times with the Lord. There is just something about meeting with the Lord and watching the waves roll in.
We spent some time also talking to other teams and finding out what they are doing on their different locations. While some of the stuff wouldn't work well in the culture we are in, we did get some great ideas. It also made us very thankful for the ministry we do have as in many of the locations, if they even have strong believers, they are having a hard time getting them to go out and share their faith.
Overall, I think I felt less alone after the conference. It is easy to feel like we are all alone in our little corner of the world, but meeting everyone who is doing the same thing in locations that are not all that far from us, helped ease that.
