Joyeuse St. Valentin Jour!

Thats Happy Valentines day!

I know I'm a few days late, but it still counts right. It is really interesting because Valentine's Day in France is something that is celebrated exclusively between couples. So we went out on campus and passed on candy to girls with a verse attached. Some girls didn't want to take it because they didn't have a boyfriend. I found myself saying a lot, 'everyone needs love, even if you don't have a boyfriend.' What was neat was that we say some of the people that we have been meeting with on campus and were able to give them candy as well. Keith and I have a lunch appointment with a girl next week. Last time we talked to her, she seemed really open and said she believes in a force and another world like in Matrix (well not exactly Matrix world, but the idea of something else out there). It is so interesting how people who have never heard the gospel believe some of the basics of it, but in different words.
A funny story is that on Valentines Day we had our weekly meeting with a Valentines Day theme. Since we eat together every week, I decided to make pink rice krispy treats. Not hard to do, since marshmallows are half pink and half white here. Well rick krispy treats are strictly an American dessert, but the French LOVE them. They were gone in just a few minutes. The funniest part was the two French girls that came up to me and wanted the recipe. They were so intent, I was trying so hard not to laugh. They kept thinking it was something complicated to make and couldn't believe it only had three ingredients. They both said they were excited to try them. So I guess I'm leaving my mark here on France with pink rice krispy treats.
